Curious, Inquisitive, and Interested in the world around them. This is how I describe my 19 second graders and our daily learning climate.
My students are always eager to tackle any learning challenge presented.
We have a little bit of every type of personality in our classroom and we are a group that celebrates our differences and grows from learning with each other on a daily basis. There is a bond that develops when you experience new, exciting things. I strive for my classroom to be the community that fosters that bonding between the students and myself while instilling a foundation for a lifetime of learning.
My Project
When students are engaged in the learning process they are able to take in and retain new information more efficiently.
I am requesting wobble stools and exercise balls to provide flexible seating options to students.
These wobble stools and stability balls will help wigglers (aka 7 and 8 year olds) keep their feet planted on the floor while allowing their torso to rock and core muscles to engage. Which has a tremendous impact on behavior and learning attainment.
These flexible seating choices will allow all my students to choose seating that is beneficial to their individual learning style and I will be able to provide a learning environment that will be successful to all types of learners.
