it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is a small public elementary school in the Bronx, NY. Our school is committed to providing all students with a well-rounded curriculum that engages students in hands-on, project-based learning as well as developing social skills and building character.
50% of our student population is from low-income families.
We work hard to ensure that economics doesn't get in the way of quality education. Our students are eager to learn. They need a hand up not a handout.
My Project
Long gone are the days of just sitting behind a desk in school. Finally, we understand that children are designed to move. Rather than trying to get them to work in an unnatural way, I want to create an environment that will support my kiddos with wiggles, bouncing, rocking, and any other kind of movement while still being productive in the classroom. These materials which include a sofa, stools, and saucer chairs, will help build community while adding comfort and style to my classroom. After the past 14 months, I want my students to say, "Welcome Home Sweet Classroom".
