This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are the 2018-2019 5th grade class and it is our year to shine! We are a creative group of 28 students. We set goals in order to take personal responsibility for our education as individuals and a class. Most importantly, we know that learning should be fun! But these desks and chairs are so old school! Even grown-ups have flexible work spaces, look at Google and Apple, they have the coolest work environments! Well, we want that too! Our classroom needs a makeover!!
Our big wish is to learn in a 21st Century flexible seating classroom!
It’s time to get up and find the space, within ourselves and our class, where we each learn best. Think about the ways we learn at home; board games on the floor, or stretching out to read on big cushions, the possibilities are endless. So let’s move out of these desks and chairs and make learning less rigid!

My Project
Everyone learns in their own way! Our classroom confines the students to their seats for the majority of their day! Flexible seating balance balls, wobble chairs and cushions offer the ability to move and learn! The fidget bands will help those with the need to shimmy, tap, or get out of their seats to manage their movements effectively. Most of all it's time to bring this classroom into the 21st century! We have portable technology, but our kids are still stuck in the seat! Flexible seating is the long overdue makeover our room needs!
