Let's Get Engaged Through Play

My students need to practice their math skills and what better way to practice than with games. Children love puzzles and bingo!

My Students

My scholars are a special group of children from Southeast D.C. Where they are born and raised should not mean that they should not be provided a quality education. The community in which they are raised may not prioritize education; however, I strive for them to want more! The scholars I have are energetic and love to play games. They look forward to the game station. They don't realize they are learning through play. Some of my scholars have specifically asked for BINGO games and more puzzles. I do not want them to lack at school, because this should be an environment of solace, joy and where their educational needs are met.

My Project

In the classroom, having scholars engaged is imperative. Scholars love to play games and play with puzzles; therefore, I have chosen the Math Equivalency Puzzles and Math Bingo library from Lakeshore. Math puzzles and bingo games will work to reinforce skills previously acquired, while simultaneously keeping scholars engaged in the classroom. These games will promote following expectations, working as a team, and independence. Games help to regulate math stations in the classroom and scholars look forward to being the the leader or captain. Scholars show great enthusiasm towards playing games. These materials will be exceedingly useful in the classroom! Thank you for reading!
