Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our community is primarily federally funded through Title I funds and the National School Lunch Program. Our students struggle to meet the state standards due to challenges with reading levels, comprehension, and writing proficiency. Our population is largely second language learners wherein parents work long hours to support their family in the agricultural field. Our students would benefit from a wide variety of resources.
Our students work very hard and are deserving.
We are very lucky to have a strong and proud community of learners. We strongly believe with resources, support, and commitment to education our students can strive for success and realize their potential.
My Project
Challenged based learning allows us to explore together, learn from each other, and grow together. Focusing on our ELA curriculum while making the learning yours, will be my goal and the targeted learning environment.
Students will use these seats to feel more relaxed while engaging in difficult material.
Through varied lessons, collaboration, and movement, learners will achieve the desired standards with more efficacy. With the benefit of optional and flexible seating, the interest to engage in literature, discussions about literature, and reflection will increase.
Literacy is essential to everything we do in life.
It is my hope to instill in you the love of reading as well as exploration. Together we will investigate, discover, and create.
Ultimately, you will develop your skills in reading, writing, editing, collaborating, and overall relationship building. Working together, we will not only grow academically, but as individuals; together. Learning guides us in all that we do and our relationships hold us together. It is my hope we can do this together.
