I teach 4th graders at a school that has seen a vast increase of below level students and kids in "need" in the last year. It is shocking the number of students that are lacking experiences in life.Our school is located less than 30 minutes from the beach and half of the students have never even experienced it. There is so much we can learn about science and our environment when we have different "hands-on" learning experiences. As a teacher, I need to provide these students with an opportunity to "get dirty" and experience the true side of science! We are in need of hands on Science Activities in each of the different Science Standards that can be used year to year. The students need to be actively investigating science on an everyday basis. Energy, organs, cells, natural resources,etc... are such abstract concepts that can be fully understood by students once they "Experience" them!Your help will ensure my students get the hands on learning experiences they need to "LEARN" and "UNDERSTAND" science. You will make it possible for my students to enjoy studying science everyday!
