Help me give my students bags of soil to fill raised garden beds and mulch to help hold in moisture plus discourage weeds. The students need garden gloves to protect their hands while working in our school gardens.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Hester's classroom raised $292

My Project
Our fourth grade garden club students have been working hard getting ready to plant their raised gardens. Soil and mulch are needed to fill the beds. Gloves are needed to protect the students hands for cleaning up an old gardening area and stacking the current wooden raised beds is big work for ten year old children! These students are learning to reuse and recycle. They will learn how to grow their own food and share this skill with their families.
The students have a plan to grow vegetables for a salad.
They have the seeds but need the soil to fill the garden beds. The students would also like to have vegetables to share with their teachers and parents. Using the cucumbers to make refrigerator dill pickles is a tradition of this school club. Taking these pickles home allows the students to share their achievements.
Gardening students are curious about learning to grow plants and vegetables they can eat. They have energy and like to work together, often lifting and carrying large bags of soil and wooden garden frames.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
