This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class comes from all parts of the city. They are second language learners and have learning disabilities. They are eager to learn and very funny. They come prepared and are excited for school. They have their moments, however, with proper support and guidance, they find success throughout the day. They do not give up and they try to learn in many different ways.

My Project

We have been away from the classroom and learning at home for a very long time. My students and I are so excited to be coming back to school and I know that because I asked them, it was on overwhelming "Yeah!" when they heard schools can reopen. One of our favorite Friday activities was pouring over Science Periodicals which always led to fantastic discussions and even more questions. The magazine subscriptions are always full of great pictures with interesting and relevant topics. For example, "Why do feet stink?" was a favorite article that we read.
