My Students
The students at my school come from a diverse community. Our goal as a community and staff is to immerse students in the different cultures that our students come from. We have a large ELL population and we know it is important that they learn English, but also keep their home language strong, too.
The 1st grade students are hardworking, respectful and willing to try difficult tasks in order to achieve a set goal.
Our school serves students K-5 and provides a well rounded education. All the teachers strive to do what they can and will take extra steps to help their students. About 37% of the students are on free or reduced lunch.
My Project
Students will be able to use artistic expression through the use of paint. The thickness of the paint brush will support students of this age with their fine motor development. The drying rack will allow us to dry our artwork without taking up valuable learning space and avoid projects being stuck together as they dry. In our classroom, we use art to support content learning such as using art to express content that students are learning in another format.
Art is engaging and exciting for students, but also an overlooked foundational skill in the classroom.
The pencil sharpener is a much needed tool that is used daily in the classroom. Please help us get these paint brushes and drying rack in our room.
