My project needs 1 set of folding geometric shapes, 1 set of geometry riddle books, sing & learn math songs and 1 numbers and operations instant center.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Keller's classroom raised $248
This project is fully funded
The 18 energetic third graders in my heterogeneously grouped class live along the coast of South Carolina. They are very excited to be learning new ideas and concepts in math class this year.
These eager children are always looking for ways to explore the different mathematical concepts that are presented to them as new third grade students. The more chances that a child has in a hands-on situation the more likely he/she is to remember the skill being taught. Therefore, these third grade students need more hands-on materials to explore the newly introduced math concepts.
The much needed mathematical materials I am requesting will allow each and every student a chance to experience hands on learning during center time in class. My students love to sing so the songs and posters will help repeat and remember math rules. The instant numbers and operations math center will allow the children plenty of practice time during learning station rotations in the classroom. The math prep rings will encourage the children to think and apply what they have learned in math class. The geometry riddle book and folding shapes will allow the students a chance to have hands-on experiences with different shapes and will also encourage them to become successful independent thinkers. Remember, we are all more likely to remember things if we are given the chance to experiment with hands-on resources. Third graders are very excited to practice new skills if they are given the opportunity and resources that they need in order to practice these newly developed skills.
Your help will ensure that my students develop a love for learning and will help them make the connections that make math a meaningful and positive experience, allowing them to build on skills obtained in the third grade throughout the rest of their lives!
