My Students

Our classroom is about 160 sq. feet and we need to find "Creative and Innovative" ways to save space and still display our student's art work. The kids are studying "Art History" as their Gifted theme this year and we'll need basic art supplies to display their art work around our small humble room.

Our Gifted students come from 4 different schools plus several private schools.

Our home school has the most students and the students are all Gifted ranging in grade levels from KG-5th. All of our schools are title one schools and the funding is always tight each year(especially for these Gifted students). I regularly complete donor's choose projects just to get some basic supplies needed to accomplish our theme for the year.

My Project

Every year in Gifted we have a theme. This year's theme is "Art History." We are planning to study famous artists, their work, and create art projects inspired from the great artists such as Van Gogh, Picasso, and Dali. As their Gifted teacher, I will draw on their talents, challenge and inspire them this year through having them create a class mural for each grade level. We will take many field trips offered in our area to museums such as the Dali and the Fine Arts Museum where the students will gain an appreciation for art history. It will be a hands-on fun filled and challenging year where the Gifted students at this center will really benefit.

I myself, have a huge love and excitement about art and I want to share it with my students.

Art is my passion and I've always wanted to share that with my students. This year will be different than all of the previous years as my passion and excitement will impact these Gifted students for life. These basic art supplies will help display and keep the classroom functional as it is a small space. Many of the supplies will make weekly projects challenging and inspiring for our students.
