Finally Flexible & Cozy!

Help me give my students the comfort of soft seating, wobble seating, and cozy carpets, so we can expand our learning environment.

My Students

My students are an awesome and active group of 21-second grade learners. We are part of a Title I public school where 2/3 of our students are on free/reduced lunch. Many students in our school come from single-parent homes, take part in before/aftercare programs, or are displaced/homeless.

Fair isn't everyone getting the SAME, Fair is everyone getting what they need to succeed.

We are a close-knit class and spend time building each other up instead of breaking each other down. We understand that each one of us learns differently, and require different things to do our best!

My Project

Flexible seating allows students to pick the best spot and best way to learn. This allows students to be more engaged and have less distractions around them. Children should not be stuck at a desk for 6-7 hours a day!

When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.

My most recent project allowed me to introduce flexible seating to my classroom, and my students have been more focused and in tune with their learning. I have seen a world of difference. They are able to choose a seating space that allows them to do their best work, whether that be in a desk, a wobble stool, or at a table on the floor.

I have seen the benefit of soft and wobble seating in our classroom, and would like to replace the remainder of our hard seating with a more comfortable space. Students LOVE the floor tables, but still have tile floors in our classroom! The donations to this project will enable my students to utilize the floor as a viable work space, as well as add more soft seating to my classroom. Students will be able to use our floor tables, and floor seating, with a cozy carpet to sit on. Hard floors and hard chairs do not provide comfort, and I would like to give my student's a place that feels like home!
