Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These items will help jumpstart our baking sessions to not only help the students build the important skills they need in the kitchen, but also help them with their team working skills. Currently, we do not have a working oven and having an oven is vital to learning different cooking techniques and how to properly set the temperature.

Our goals for this project is to bake and cook food items to sell to staff as a way to raise funds for our field trips.

Although that is our main goal, I also want the students to work on their transition IEP goals which include life skills.

My students bring a lot of heart to our community. Although they are a special day class, many of them challenge themselves by stepping into general education settings and find ways to integrate themselves into the bigger school community. To help them reach rewards (field trips) they wanted to bake and cook to sell to our wonderful staff.
