My Project
While the wonderful donors all around me came together to make this happen once already, we are again looking to expand the seating options for the students during their breakfast and lunch times in the school cafeteria. On Inservice Days, when the teachers gather for breakfast in this same space, we struggle to get in and out of the tables and their attached seats. These seats are very low to the ground, and not ideal for older middle school students, nor almost all high school students.
If the students have a comfortable place to sit, they are less likely to get out of their seats and stand up.
This will furthermore prevent students from walking around the cafeteria after initially just standing at one of the ends of the tables. Our students thrive on structure, but also on comfort. Let's make the cafeteria a cozy and welcoming space for all!
