Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

For the past two years I have been teaching in a substantially separate classroom for students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. I am eager to begin the school year, but I know that I will need a variety of different materials to meet all their individual needs and follow appropriate social distancing rules.

Along with the variety of special needs my students have, almost all of my students come from low- income homes.

My students require an organized and productive learning environment. I work to make my classroom a safe and inclusive space where all my students can learn and thrive. My focus is to teach functional academics and social skills. My students love to learn and this will make their learning experience that much more successful and rewarding.

My Project

During these uncertain times, I want to make sure my students are prepared and have the rights tools to succeed for this upcoming school year. Teaching in a substantially separate classroom for students with social, emotional and academic needs, our classroom requires a variety of materials to meet all the diverse and individual needs of our students. In our classroom, our goal is to create an organized, productive, and clean learning environment.

The supplies I am requesting will be utilized by students daily.

I strive to create a collaborative environment, where students can engage with their peers and teachers throughout academic blocks safely. The U-Shaped tables will allow the students and I to gather in a small group for discussions and learning. I am able to keep a close eye on the group’s actions, while following appropriate social distancing rules. The desk chairs will provide ample appropriate seating for the classroom.
