In today’s society technology is heavily used. Infants and toddlers even know how to use it, be it a cell phone or a tablet. In our pre-k class we lack storybooks that are appropriate for our students, and most times we have to find read- alouds online for them to hear and watch stories. I’d love for my students to use their imagination, turn the pages of a book, and learn the parts of a book. What better way to accomplish this than by using large classroom books. I believe this will help get our little ones interested in reading and having physical books. Learning how to locate books in a small classroom library. Being able to read from a book with pages helps the students to focus more and gives their eyes a break from technology. I chose the large books with the activities included to create a lending library for our class. The students will be allowed to “check out” a book to take home and have a parent read to them. For parents, the activities will help them to keep our little readers engaged and to help them understand the story they are reading.
