My Students
Remember in school how bored you were when the lesson was straight out of the book? Many on my students need motivation to actively engage them. I think this project will help motivate them to participate and learn to their utmost potential.
My students are inspired by many different things.
I try to find different creative ways to help keep them motivated to participate each and every day. I teach a 6:1:1 class of students with autism in a middle school for students with special needs. Our school is in New York City. My students use routine and structure to help them throughout the day. Many of them are visual, sensory learners who thrive on independent hands-on work. They are motivated by positive feedback and incentives.
My Project
My students are very responsive to sensory and hands on items. They love using the computer and want to learn more about computer programming. The LittleBits electronics kits will give my students a chance to learn a great deal about computer programming and give them a chance to learn in an engaging hands-on manner that they crave. Learning by doing provides in-depth understanding of concepts with application for real-life scenarios. LittleBits electronics will foster group problem-solving and teamwork with design thinking challenges and project-based learning.
Lessons that are highly engaging will inspire the students to their highest potential.
Donations to this project guarantee that my students will be highly engaged and will give them skills that they can potentially use in their everyday lives.
