My students are very low income. They only have use of graphing calculator in school. They are desperate to have one to use at home--like their peers. One even said, "if I celebrated Christmas. this is what I would ask Santa for."
My students are the hardest workers!
This calculator will be used every day for math class, including exams. We are also going to use it for financial literacy projects involving debt--loans and credit cards. We are going to research store and bank credit cards. This calculator will allow my students to use the sophisticated concepts we learned on class and apply them to their own lives and how math impacts their families and communities every day--for better or worse.
