Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It is important for students to learn how to communicate all of the big feelings inside of their tiny bodies, so that adults can better assist them with their feelings and thoughts. This year my classroom includes many students on the spectrum that are learning to manage their emotions.
The emotional kits will help students reference their emotions and feelings during states of overwhelming and/or joyful emotions, and the sensory kits are sensory tools to support students during hard to focus times.
The lap pad will help them focus on their academics.
Teaching students at a young age about emotions and feelings will better develop student's emotional intelligence and communication skills. Both in which will serve students in the long run.
