My Project
I am writing to request funding support for an enriching educational project aimed at my elementary special education students of District 75 in New York City, particularly those diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. It will make a profound impact on their learning to have this hands on and visual experience.
This initiative focuses on providing caterpillar kits to each class to facilitate the observation of the butterfly Lifecyle, fostering both academic and therapeutic benefits for these students.
As you may know children with Autism benefit from hands-on, sensory-rich learning experiences. By introducing caterpillar kits into our curriculum, we aim to create an engaging and inclusive environment where students can explore science concepts while also developing patience, observation, and empathy.
My students are unique because of their needs but they are special because they are simply children. They are curious, smart, and playful. They deserve the opportunity to experience this project. I am committed to ensuring all my students have access to high quality educational experiences.
