This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students have lots of energy and are always excited about learning. Traditional seating can be difficult for some of my students that feel the need to wiggle. Students in my classroom love to do their work but need to engage in self-stimulating behaviors, so I would like to be able to provide them with flexible seating options to maintain their focus on their work.
Some students will wiggle in their chairs while others like to swing their feet as a form of stimming.
Students that have access to flexible seating can fulfill their need for stimming and engage in their work. Giving students options for seating can make sitting through a lesson more fun and engaging. My students love when they have a chance to use the three flexible seating options we currently have available.
