Help me give my students a window to the world around them. Reading the scholastic magazines allow my students to create good reading habits, learn about the community and how things work. They love saying “Let’s Find Out!”
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Creating a rich print environment for my kindergartners is important. Students read everything they see around them! Giving them current, tangible, and relatable material is a great way to get them engaged.
By giving them these scholastic magazines, students are practicing good reading habits, appreciate learning information, and understand the impact and importance of nonfiction reading.
Students this year absolutely love these magazines. Each month has seasonal, themed, and interesting topics. And the science spin explains science in a child friendly way. Each cover poses a question that gets them thinking, synthesizing, wondering and predicting. And they love to say “Let’s find out!” I know my students next year will love it just the same. I hope you will help me to guarantee this for them, too!
