Let's Find Out! Newsletters for Pre-K ELL Students
My students need subscriptions to Scholastic's Let's Find Out newsletter series for Pre-K English Language Learners. This will help them to learn about different topics throughout the year and to build vocabulary and academic skills.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from low-income families from Central American, South American and Caribbean countries- usually Mexico, Ecuador or the Dominican Republic. Although English is not their first language, my students' families are enthusiastic and supportive of their children's learning experiences in Pre-K!
As their first teacher, I strive to give my students opportunities and experiences that will help to shape their love for learning and to help them to feel safe, supported and encouraged in my class, while building important academic, physical, emotional and social skills.
My Project
Scholastic News provides non-fiction, print rich informational texts to Pre-K students with colorful photos on topics such as health, science, and social studies. Our class will use the Let's Find Out Spanish Edition of this magazine designed for Pre-K level English Language Learners.
By receiving this magazine every two weeks, my students and I can practice shared reading, skill building exercises and can explore online resources on academic and social skills topics.
Students can also be introduced to concepts and vocabulary in their native language, and can match pictures and words to increase their English language vocabulary using this newsletter! This program also features online and take home activities for increasing parent involvement in my Pre-K classroom.
