My Project

With the funding of this project I plan to teach my kindergarten children about Lunar New Year and its importance. Through music, lessons with chopsticks and chop stick holders and pretend play with the blow up boom boxes, my young learners will experience the joy and excitement this holiday offers. They will learn about the culture which is marked by lively parades, colorful decorations and gift giving with red envelopes.

I want to introduce my children to a rich cultural tradition that celebrates family, community, and new beginnings filled with art, music and real life experiences.

We will create lanterns and hang them with the requested hooks and learn how to use real chopsticks. Learning about the sounds of the music and the symbols of the holiday helps children appreciate the diversity of cultures around the world. This early exposure will foster a sense of respect for others, promote inclusivity, and broaden their understanding of global celebrations, enriching their emotional and social development.
