Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a lively and inquisitive bunch that show up to class eager to learn, despite the challenges they are faced with in and out of the classroom. I have a wide variety of learning styles and levels. Every student in my classroom is unique and everyone in the room respects each other. Throughout the day, I see random acts of kindness in our class which makes me so happy! I care about my students and they know it!

My goal, as a bilingual teacher, is to encourage my students to love learning and to develop lifelong independent learners.

I especially love that they try their BEST on everything that comes their way! They love to read and enjoy hands-on activities. They are great helpers and I know I can count on them. Every day​ I make sure and instill good qualities that will make them amazing citizens.

My Project

The flexible seating will make a difference in my students learning by engaging and empowering them, while promoting physical health. I want my students to be able to choose the type of seating that works best for their learning style. Being able to provide them with a learning environment other than what they're used to is sure to get them motivated to learn!

Flexible seating will allow my students to find comfortable positions, which will make them more calm, focused, and productive.

My students will be given the power of CHOICE and ownership, which will make them more enthusiastic and actively engaged while learning in our classroom. It's no secret that children need to move. Flexible seating options will give my students the sensory input they may need, specifically students with ADD, ADHD, and/or autism. My students will feel more comfortable, which is extremely important to our classroom climate. Please help us get a Nugget (couch) for comfort!
