My students need 26 dictionaries, 26 thesauruses, and 30 vocabulary journals.

My Students

Many of my students have limited vocabulary and not yet discovered the words that could take their writing to a whole new level.

Our school has a very high poverty rate.

Many students have limited resources at home to assist in outside learning opportunities. They love learning at school and I would like to continue their learning outside of the classroom at home. Due to funding cuts providing the resources for outside use has become difficult.

My Project

With the resources in this grant I would be able to enrich students vocabulary daily. I would have a word of the day and students would use the dictionary and thesaurus to enhance their vocabulary. Students would be able to keep their vocabulary journals in their desk to use daily in their writings. Students would also be able to use the resources to assist with their nightly homework and their parents would be able to have the resources at home to assist their child.

With these classroom donations to my classroom; I would be able to enrich student vocabulary.

I would also be able to provide resources for parents to assist in their child's learning at home.
