My Students

Our true & favorite quote: "Education is the Number One Tool Everyone Should Carry with Them Daily." Our typical day starts off with a morning greeting before entering the door. Once the bell rings, we start learning without wasting time. We are always working hard to be academically successful.

Our class consist of very energetic and motivated fourth graders.

These students have grown so much since the school year started. All students are very polite, have great manners, and very respectful. Our school is located in a very low social economic area and most live below poverty. Every student at our school receives free breakfast in the classroom and lunch daily. The majority of our students live really hard lives. Living with only one parent, relatives, grandparents, or sibling. Some students only see their parent/s only during holidays, summer vacations, or weekends. No matter what bumps are in their way, they all manage to come to school daily with a smile on their faces and ready to learn. The whole faculty at our school work really hard to help find services and assistants for our students and their families. We want our students to academically succeed and have all the opportunities they very well deserve.

My Project

My students need four Teen Kore Active Chairs to help students that are full of energy (hyper) maintain focus while releasing energy when sitting on the stools. Our class will use these stools on a daily bases for students who are ADHD and full of energy. They will help students maintain seated and not distract their peers. It is really hard for some of our students, especially since our P.E. time is last period. These children come to school energized and full of energy every morning. Our lunch period is also late --12:30, so it double hard for some students to be focused, complete their work, and maintain seated. Students are allowed to stand up to help them release some energy, but for some it's not enough. The downfall though, is that during State Assessment days, all students must be seated and remain seated till the four hours of testing is done. These stools will help students in our class a great deal since they are ergonomic, which will allow students to move around while sitting. All students will be able to use the stools or switch back to their regular chair as needed to meet their needs.

By donating to this project students will be able to release their wiggles and energy while sitting.

It will help reduce peer distractions and increase students focus. This project will change several of our students lives by being able to move around as much as they need in order to release some energy. It will also change the lives of the rest of our class by not having to see students standing up while doing their work. Most importantly it will help students not waste precious learning time
