This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We're starting a unit on World War II where we are focussing on Japanese internement camps. I'd like my kids to have a class set of the book Dash to follow along with. This is a great 4th grade level book that helps students really understrand what life was like during this period in time.
Dash is a great story featuring an adorable dog and eleven-year-old Mitsi Kashino.
Mitsi and her family are forced to move to a Japanese internment camp following the attack on Pearl Harbor. The Japanese-Americans are forced to leave their homes, their jobs, and all but what they can carry.
