This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students come from different backgrounds and speak different languages. For many of our three and four year olds, this will be their first experience in a classroom. We provide them with support and care to make their Pre-K journey an enjoyable one.
My Project
At the early childhood age, our young students eagerly enter the classroom asking: What are we doing today? They look around for new materials, characters or mysterious supplies. It is important to engage our students in creative and fun ways. Providing opportunities and eye catching supplies to have students create and expand their imagination and critical thinking is what Pre-K and 3-K is about. As a STEAM teacher, I incorporate science, technology, art, math and engineering into our students' learning.
Our students learn through play and experiences.These materials are important for our STEAM classroom because they help foster critical thinking, problem solving and creativity when they build, invent and experiment.
Our students will use these materials in our STEAM classroom and incorporate them in our units of study. These materials will provide an opportunity for students to build homes, babies, characters, vehicles and so much more!
This is my first year as a STEAM teacher so these materials would mean so much to my classroom. I teach seven classes which meet at the lab about two to three times a week, so our supplies run out fast.
