This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school does not have a lot of great spaces for students to hang out or work while still being supervised and safe. The population of our students has grown, but our school is still small and has very few places to congregate. Adding tables to the outdoor courtyard can provide students with a comfortable work area!
These last few years, the art teachers and students have been lacking usable outdoor space.
Although we have the ability to go outside, we do not have the means to sit and work on classwork. With your help, we could start a community space with two picnic tables! These tables could be used to work on art, eat lunch, and do group activities for class.
Students in every community, but especially ours, find comfort in the routine and safety of school. By adding picnic tables to our courtyard, our students and teachers can enjoy the Georgia weather while working in a more inspiring space.
