Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We're in the middle of the school year and this year I am teaching a first and a second grade combination class. My students started with a disadvantage because of the pandemic and I want to have as many tools and materials as possible to help them succeed in school.

My students are eager to learn and they are full of energy and wonder because for some of them, this is their first time in an actual classroom.

I have been teaching for 20 years in the same public school that is located in a city where 92 percent of our population is socioeconomically disadvantaged with 59.5% English Language Learners.

My Project

I would like to get color paper to use in the classroom to create colorful and exciting art projects.Also, I'm in need of folders to help students organize their work.

I would like my students to use markers, crayons, color pencils, and colorful paper to create projects for all the holidays that we celebrate, including what we learn during Social Studies.

I want my students to be excited when working on art project. We usually use white paper and crayons and this can be boring at times. I would like my students to create projects that are vibrant and long lasting. The clear Scotch tape will be used to make these projects sturdy, shiny, and long lasting. The three ring binders with tabs and labels will help us organize our work.
