This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Moving into my 1st grade classroom in Tulsa Public Schools, I was amazed at the creativity and excitement my students had with our one small used set of K'Nex building manipulatives! We would appreciate a few new sets of K'Nex to continue the excitement and creativity!

My students are in the 92% poverty level.

They are eager to learn and love coming to school to explore and learn! They get excited at the simplest activities I plan for them. I would like for them to have some quality manipulatives to work with and expand their imagination! My students need 4 K'Nex building sets to increase their creativity and exploration in math and science.

My Project

My students will use the K'Nex materials during math and science centers as well as Free Play Friday. They will be able to create and explore as well as write about their creations and inventions! Sharing with other classes and parent evenings will only add to their confidence and creativity!

The K'Nex activities will improve working together as a team, individual goals, and promote math, science and writing in my first grade classroom.

Creating, exploring, conversing, and working out problems will make my students better citizens later on in life!
