Let's Code with LEGO - Building Robots & Relationships

Help me give my students the opportunity to come together and build relationships with each other through collaborating, communicating, critical thinking and being creative as they learn to code, maneuver and use the LEGO Spike robotic kit.

My Project

Before academic learning can happen, we must discuss the importance of mental health in a group of students that went from being social, happy and with friends to being isolated, lonely and lost. The emotional scars of being away from friends and the safe environment of school has taken its toll on many students.

This project will provide two Lego robotic kits that will allow students to work together, problem solve, be creative and most importantly, have conversations that will lead to friendships.

The pandemic has hit every part of the world, and the most vulnerable - our students. Allowing students a chance to come together because of their love of Legos is the first step of building a friendship. Why? They already have something in common - Legos. Some of my students need help bridging the gap of being away from others, losing close friends to being social again and making new friends. By using the Lego Spike kits, not only will they be building robots, they will be building new relationships.
