This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I currently have 25 six- and seven-year-old students in my classroom. I am teaching first graders in a Title I school, located in a high poverty and high crime area of Pennsylvania.
All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Many of my students come from homes where English is not spoken. I have three special education students and two ESL (English as a Second Language) students in my classroom. Several of the students in my classroom have an in-class social worker.
My Project
We want to make Valentine decorations for our classroom.
My first graders need lots of white construction paper to make Valentine cards and hearts for our Bulletin Board.
My students will be decorating and coloring in hearts on the paper. They will need a pencil sharpener to keep their colored pencils and regular pencils nice and pointy.
My first graders will be cutting lots of paper during this project.
In order for our room to be clean when we are finished creating our Valentine masterpieces, we will need a vacuum cleaner to clean up their messes. The vacuum cleaner will be used on other occasions as well.
Please help my little ones get white construction paper, a working sharpener and an awesome vacuum cleaner.
