My Project
At our school, many of our students face unique challenges, including being over-aged, under-credited, and struggling with reading and writing below grade level. Despite these obstacles, they possess incredible potential, creativity, and determination. As part of our English Language Arts program, our students have been working hard to improve their writing skills, crafting original pieces across multiple genres—fiction, memoirs, narratives, poetry, and art. To celebrate their achievements and foster a sense of accomplishment, we are hosting our annual Poetry and Creative Writing Celebration.
This event will not only recognize our entire school communities hard work in a supportive, encouraging environment, but will inspire them to continue to develop their skills, feel seen, and know that their voices matter.
It will also help strengthen relationships between students, families, and faculty, and give us all a reason to come together to appreciate the incredible growth our students have shown throughout the year.It will provide a chance for students to share their voices, build confidence, and connect with others. Additionally, we hope this celebration will serve as an attendance incentive—students who participate and attend the event will be celebrated for their bravery, dedication, and persistence.
By donating to this project, you’ll help us provide food, drinks, and plates for the event, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere for students, families, and staff. Offering these refreshments will not only show our students that we value their hard work, but also create a festive space where everyone feels welcome and appreciated. The event will serve as a reminder of the power of creative expression and how it brings people together.
