My Students

These first graders are energetic, hard-working, determined students who love coming to school everyday! The students live in a high poverty section of the city and the majority of them receive free breakfast and lunch at school. We have a large population of ESL learners and are increasing our inclusion classroom settings each year.

These students are eager to learn, to explore and to be challenged!

Our school is a small, close-knit community where our students are taught to believe in themselves and that anything is possible!

My Project

One of my favorite things to do with my students is to publish their personal narratives, non-fiction informational writing and their opinion pieces throughout their year in first grade. We need printer ink and colored paper to make these real books come to life! The students work tirelessly editing their work and illustrating amazing works of art to share and celebrate with our school community. They are proud of themselves and having a published book means so much to them. Please help us make 2021-2022 the best school year ever!
