Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How do you captivate the attention of 25 first graders? It needs to be interesting and meaningful to the students. It is through appropriate multicultural literature, writing, and the arts & crafts that can better facilitate the learning and understanding of multiculturalism and diversity.

My first grade students are very friendly, energetic, curious, and highly motivated to learn.

They enjoy reading, arts & crafts, and responding to literature through oral discussions and writing. All of my students are English Language Learners and come from low income households.

My Project

I am requesting multicultural big books to increase an awareness of other people and cultures. It is through literature that they will discover and explore qualities we share and the differences that make us unique. Also, I am requesting writing paper and art materials to enable my students to creatively express themselves about diversity, self awareness, and our multicultural world.

It is so important for young learners to explore diversity through hands-on activities.

These resources will help my students better understand, appreciate, and celebrate diversity.
