This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students walk into our classroom each morning with smiles on their faces and are eager to learn. They are inquisitive, young children with the world just within their reach. They each come from unique backgrounds, entering our classroom daily with their own strengths, interests, hopes, dreams, and worries about life. But together, we strive to make each day meaningful, fun, and learning-filled​!

My goal for each and every one of my students is to instill a love of learning within them.

With that love, I believe that my students can achieve anything that they put their minds to, whether it be in fourth grade, eighth grade, or throughout the remainder of their lives. They can and they will achieve great things!

In my classroom, my school asks that my students learn math, and they do. I also thought, ask my students to learn acceptance, perseverance, and self-control. We work on bettering ourselves as people as we work on bettering our minds as students as well. I want my students to grow in so many ways while we are together to help them help and make our world a better place!

My Project

As a 4th-grade math teacher, I often feel like I am faced with a daunting task. When students come to me they often have 4 previous years of math experience that often times leaves them groaning, complaining, and "knowing" they can't do math.

My job is to change all that; my goal is to get my kids loving multiplication, rocking their division, and diving deep into their fractions!

My goal with this project is to first purchase new materials from Teachers Pay Teachers for my classroom. We are looking at some classroom math escape rooms, Math take-home kits, as well as new additions to our ever-changing, math games areas of our classroom. Also, I'm hoping to host several blackout/glow parties throughout the school year to celebrate students and all their newfound math success!

With your help, we can change kiddos' mindsets and let them start fresh as successful mathematicians knowing that they can, and will, be capable of hard things!
