Help me give my students the best FFA banquet possible and recognize all of their hard work while teaching them skills that they can take with them.

My Project

My students have worked hard to excel in the classroom and in rebuilding their FFA chapter. FFA is a youth organization that focuses on developing premier leadership, personal growth and career success within the agriculture industry. My students are learning about opportunities in agriculture and life skills through the classroom instruction and FFA chapter which often overlap. With them stepping up and building their chapter and developing as individuals, I want to celebrate their accomplishments with our annual banquet and make it more unique and memorable.

The items purchased are mostly decorations that would allow us to create a more involved banquet that will allow the students to feel more proud of themselves and their chapter.

FFA banquet is a big event for our chapter and requires a lot of planning and preparation. Our officer team, which is made up of sophomores-seniors in FFA, are in charge of organizing, setting up and running the event. By using Donors Choose to help with the decorations, that’ll help them cross one thing off of their list.

Aside from just wanting to recognize our members and all that they have accomplished this year, the FFA banquet also provides the opportunity for officers to develop life skills such as time management, organization, written and verbal communication. The decorations that we chose taught them more artistic skills like what looks good together, what’s realistic for them to complete and creating a theme for an event. Allowing them to set up and be in charge of the banquet will combine all of these skills in a hands-on manner that could lead to real world skills and applications.
