Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In the inner city where we live, not all students have the luxury of owning a computer. They use whatever technological tools are available at school. It is here and now where students could have access to the world by simply sliding a single finger on a tablet. A tool with diverse applications.

My group of students is a 3rd grade class made up of both Latinos and African American students from low income families eager to learn.

They attend a public school in California. They are very inquisitive with lots of questions in their little minds. They try very hard, and though they do not succeed every time, they do not give up and continue to give it their best shot. But when they succeed or do their work just right, their faces glow with excitement and joy. That inspires them to continue to strive forward towards new learning adventures. It is my pleasure to teach them strong academic content using the most up to date technological tools available to us. My students love hands-on activities. They like to touch and explore, and they love visual aids that enhance their learning modalities.

My Project

How did you react after placing your first command on a desktop computer? It was an awesome feeling, wasn't it? Now, imagine doing the same thing today, but with a brand new hand-held technological tool with unlimited capabilities in today's classrooms; not by clicking a mouse, but instead by using a single finger. A tablet will benefit all of us. Most important of all, is the ease with which it can be used, and the great flexibility the tool has. We can find activities to help the needy, find activities to challenge the advanced, and have virtual places to travel to help our dreamers. This is what we hunger for. We envision using this tool to amplify and boost our learning potential. We cannot do it alone. Therefore, we reach out and ask for support from someone with a philanthropical mind to give a helping hand.

A tablet is a great tool to have with unlimited rewards for all.

A tablet with enrich students minds helping to provide a much needed exposure to the real world. In addition, a tablet with help us to remain ambitious in a very competitive atmosphere. It will help our kinesthetic hands, it will please our visual minds, and it will give us access to a diverse array of learning possibilities. The sky will be our limit.
