Help me give my students the ability to build and create while at school. The children will not be able to share materials which could limit their play, help me give them the opportunity to play and learn.
My students are from a large, urban community that welcomes families from all backgrounds. They bring a blend of diversity, prior experiences, and culture to our school. I teach in a Kindergarten inclusion classroom where several of my students receive special education services for a range of disabilities, including intellectual, emotional, autism spectrum disorder, and many other specific learning disabilities. Many of my students also receive ESL services. The majority of my students receive free breakfast and lunch, which are now being offered remotely to every child/family that needs it.
My Project
Due to COVID, children will not be able to share materials. I feel that it is very important for children to play with blocks. I currently do not have enough blocks in my room for each child to play with. This project will give them a chance to play with blocks and have enough to create meaningful structures.
Block play is very important during early learning, it helps with art and math skills while stimulating the children to create 3D structures.
Please help me give them that opportunity during this pandemic in the classroom.
