My Project
As I continue to build the dream English Language Arts classroom, the next step is new dictionaries to help students define new words and embrace proper spelling and usage.
Many of my students struggle, even in 7th and 8th grade, with their alphabetics.
With new dictionaries, not only do the kids get smarter, but they also build career-readiness skills.
As we all know, dictionaries are not just about definitions. Dictionaries can show students the origin of words, present a true understanding of our everyday, evolving language, and help them develop their world perspective.
The class average size is 25 students, and we only have 16 dictionaries in the classroom. Please consider helping my students go “old-school” and help them prepare for the 21st century.
