This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a mixed population of Hispanics, Native Americans, African Americans, and Caucasians. We are a Title I elementary school with 100% free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students come to school in the same clothes every day. Our students do not have an opportunity to experience, extracurricular activities at home or outside of school. We do our best to bring current educational trends to our school to benefit our students.
Hands on STEAM activities promote growth mindset and encourage autonomy and self confidence.
My Project
Building blocks, magnetic blocks, and monkey scales will enable my kindergarten students to be creative and challenge their little minds! Bilingual Centers are used in our 2 Way classroom and constructive play allows for constant communication within our languages. Hands on activities are always a plus in promoting creativity, imagination and problem solving. These materials will do exactly that! Our students need stimulation and opportunities to express their autonomy within the classroom. My kindergarteners are bright, smart and full of great ideas! Please help me keep that inspiration and help fund our project.
