My Students
I am teaching Pre-K in a NYC public school. I have 13 students. I am trying to help foster my students' expressive language, reading skills, problem solving skills and their love of discovering and asking questions. For many, this is their first school experience and it is the perfect opportunity to not only encourage my students to read books and talk about them, but also to help them build their confidence as speakers, listeners, learners, and explorers. However, this requires a lot of supplies and I would really appreciate your support in getting these. I want to continue to instill a love of learning and risk-taking that will last each of them a lifetime!
My Project
My students love to build with blocks and create their own stories. The Farm Lego set and Playground set will help my student in so many ways while using a variety of materials. The Farm set will be a great addition during our Baby unit. I can introduce academic based vocabulary while they are playing. The Playground set can be used in the beginning of the school year during our All About me unit. The playground is a place that most students are familiar with and is a common ground for conversation. This commonality will be a great place to begin that is comfortable and will help to encourage interaction between my students. These two Lego sets will help to continue their love of learning through play.
