This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our 6th-grade students have specific AVID learning activities to reflect on new learning using a Mandala strategy that requires, focused, accurate and relevant learning of the topic.

Mandalas and One-Pagers are tools used to review and showcase our learning.

Mandalas are carefully crafted with facts and visual symbols of their learning. At the end of each unit, students showcase their learning using the One Pager strategy. One Pager contains summaries, vocabulary, word clusters, reactions, leveled questions/answers, etc.

Both the Mandalas and the one Pagers require colorful borders and different writing instruments (markers, pens, etc) to visually arrange the learning for presentation.
