This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing! The school we are at is a Title I school in Arizona. We have a fantastic administration, wonderful teammates, and the best students! My students are very hard workers and also know how to have fun. I wouldn't trade them for anything. I love seeing their faces every morning.
My students have a desire to learn.
They always want to know more, learn more, do more, and read more of everything. Our classroom is our own little family.
My Project
We read novels together as a class. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is an engaging book at the level my students read. We read this every year, but usually I have to read it aloud to them, because we don't have enough books for every student. By having a copy for each student, they can go back into the text when we are answering questions and reread parts that they enjoyed.
Many students don't know the joy of finishing a book from beginning to end.
We read this as a class to see that joy. Having a book in each of their hands helps encourage lifelong learners.
