Have you ever tried to sit all day when your body just wants to wiggle? Many of our students have challenges with sensory integration. This project will provide my students the opportunity to fulfill their sensory input needs while being active from the safety of their own classroom. The trampoline will provide assistance to calm them in times of stress or distress when needed.
The trampoline is designed with soft covers to protect them while bouncing their little hearts out to fulfill their sensory input needs.
Not only will the trampoline provide sensory input but also following directions and rules of the classroom. Teaching students to wait their turn. This will provide a place to release energy when it is raining outside as well! Our students learn best when they are relaxed and not in a stressful state. Many of our students have difficulties with self-regulation and focus. Having something to work towards gives them motivation and a sense of purpose. First we work, then we can bounce.
