Let's Book It To Help Feed USA

My students need a cooking kit, cooking utensils and cookbooks to help FEED USA. They also need laminating and binding machines to make their own healthy cookbooks.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Wade's classroom raised $563

My Students

Learning how to cook can be fun. Learning how to cook AND eat healthy is beneficial. Kids get excited about cooking! They do not realize that they are getting excited about learning. Many concepts in math and science can be tied into learning how to cook and eat healthy. I want my students to learn!

I teach in an public elementary school that is filled with enthusiastic teachers and learners.

Currently, I teach 49 fantastic fourth graders. All of the students are very eager to learn. They are always thoroughly engaged when I incorporate food or eating into the learning process.

My Project

Cooking engages children and is an excellent way to reach all learners who have different learning styles. I am requesting a cooking kit, cooking utensils, cookbooks, laminating materials, and book binding materials so that my current and future students are exposed to learning how to cook and eat healthy. By learning how to cook various recipes and creating their own healthy cookbook concepts learned at school will transfer to students' homes and help FEED USA. I will teach the students about the benefits of cooking and eating healthy. I will show them how to cook basic healthy recipes. I will also help them make dishes of their own. Students will then use the Internet and cookbooks to pick healthy recipes that will be easy for them to cook at home. They will use the recipes to create their own cookbooks that will be used by their family.

I am requesting cooking, book binding and laminating materials to help FEED USA.

Students have to be taught how to eat healthy in order to lead a healthy life. If they are aware, they will educate others and help more people lead healthy lives.
