This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from diverse backgrounds and bring a variety of experiences and languages into the classroom. In my classroom alone there are about 12 different languages spoken at home. This makes teaching reading and language a very important part of my day. I try to create a fun and positive environment to encourage my student to learn. By making activities and choosing books to fit their interest and needs.
My students are always excited to learn and they work hard every day to meet their personal and school wide goals.
My Project
Literacy is something I am very passionate about, and sometimes my students are not aware of the pleasure you can experience from reading a book.
I want my students to experience the enjoyments of reading books and how they can learn from them.
So I have selected multiple books that I will be introducing to my students throughout the school year that will spark their interest in reading and provide learning opportunities for them. Creating an interest in reading is very important to me as a teacher, and I would like to be able to provide my scholars with the opportunity to enjoy reading as well.
