My Students
My 30 students are inner city students who attend a public school where funding has been cut significantly. Their parents chose a public school because they do not have many options due to finances, which in turn does not provide the schools with a ton of support. In an ever changing world, we as teachers and staff members must be prepared in all instances.
Being proactive instead of reactive is the key to our students safety.
The school district can't always provide the materials needed for everyday learning let alone in these unprecedented times. As a result of situations around our country, we would like to be prepared knowing our school is a safe place to be by providing the necessary supplies for continued safety.
My Project
Schools as we know them have been greatly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Since March, the schools around the country have implemented distance learning via the internet.
As summer in under way, our district is making plans for reopening our campuses.
There are many scenarios being thrown around for possible school reopening. However, the bottom line is keeping the students socially distanced from each other, inside and outside the classroom with protective face coverings. These masks, thermometers and face shields will help keep my kindergarten class safe from the outside world. My kids are my world.
